Resident Companies
The Morrison Center is proud to be the resident venue for the following Boise-based Performing Arts Companies.
Departments of Music & Theatre
Both departments are housed within the academic wing of the Morrison Center. In addition to their own performance and rehearsal spaces, various ensembles of the Music Department regularly perform in the main hall each semester. The Stage II black-box theater routinely showcases both drama and dance productions by students of the Theatre Department. Every other year the main hall is utilized for a full theatrical production.
Boise Philharmonic Association
As Idaho’s largest and oldest performing arts organization, the 70-member Boise Philharmonic takes full advantage of the Center's superb acoustics for the presentation of fourteen Masterworks concerts. As part of their annual Children's Concerts, over 6,000 schoolchildren are invited to enjoy the glory of symphonic experience here at the Center.
Ballet Idaho
The Morrison Center is home to Artistic Director Toni Pimble and the Ballet Idaho professional company. Each season, the company tours the Northwest and performs three full-scale dance productions in its residence theater - a classic performance, family show, and a program of contemporary work. In addition, the company delights children of all ages with an annual presentation of the time-honored The Nutcracker.
Opera Idaho
The primary mission of Opera Idaho is to fund and produce grand opera of the highest possible professional standard, in Boise and throughout the State of Idaho. In addition to their diverse educational and outreach programs, Opera Idaho graces the Morrison Center stage with two productions each season.
